I was born in Rochester, NY in 1960. I became a Christian in 1976 and wanted to become a missionary soon after my salvation experience. I attended Bible College and graduated in 1982, majoring in Biblical Literature.
In 1981 Rob and I got married and its been an exciting ride till now!

My passion is Jesus and people. I devote my time to people, helping them to find their place in the Body of Christ, helping them to connect. I also teach at women's meetings and other events with the motivation to see people reach their potential.

My favorite pastimes are spending time with Rob and Cody, being outdoors, spending time with good friends and making new ones. I also have a passion for shoes and good books!

Michael J. Laplume

Staff Pastor and Elder

I was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, in June of 1961 and became a Christian in May of 1985. I attended Bible College for 4 years, earning a degree in Theological Studies. As a Christian missionary, I came to Vienna, Austria in August of 1990. At that time I began serving as a fulltime volunteer at CIG until June of 1996. During those years I served mainly as the director of the Bible School program as well as teaching Bible courses.

In July of 1996, I returned to America. While there I worked on staff for 2 years, at Grace Gospel Church, in Swansea, Massachusetts. I returned to Vienna, Austria, in July of 1998, to serve once again at CIG. It was in the following year, in 1999 that my wife, Beata and I were married.

I currently serve at CIG, as Pastor of Adult Education and as one of the elders of the church. I also oversee the A/V, IT and EDV departments. Together with my wife we lead the Life Groups ministry. I am passionate for God's Church and for seeing changed lives through a living and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to jazz or Christian music, while relaxing with a good cup of coffee.

Beata Laplume

Administrator & Life Group Ministry Co-Leader and member of the board

I was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1963. In 1979, while in high school, I became a believer in Jesus.
I visited Vienna for the first time in 1986 and later moved here in June of 1987. In 1990 I started to serve in CIG on a volunteer basis, and studied at Vienna Bible Institute, majoring in missions. In June of 1999, Mike and I got married.

My passion is for the church of Jesus Christ. I love to help people to get connected through Life Groups & Connect Evenings. Mike and I have the privilege of leading the CIG  Life Group Ministry. I serve in an administrative role on the church office team as well as on the Board of Directors & on the CIG Leadership Team. .

One my favorite verses is: Josh 24.15 "But as for me & my house, we will serve the Lord."

My favorite pastimes are: spending time with Mike, getting to know new people, photography, reading inspiring books or taking walks on the beach.

Born 1964 in Vienna., Austria, I am married with Dana since July 2000.
Right now I am working in the Video buisness. 

I found Jesus in 1993. Since then Jesus is my Lord and friend and CIG my church.            

From 1994 – 2000 I studied at the Vienna Bible Institut. In 2000 I became an elder of CIG..

My passion is to make visible the things from above (Col.3/ 1, 2; 2. Cor. 4/18) by means of theatre or multi media and to work with people who share similar intrests.
As an elder I also try to help people to set their minds on the things that are above, to believe them and to walk accordingly.

I was born on April 4th 1960 in Nigeria and came to Austria in the year 1985. I am married to Evi since 21 years and we are blessed with three children (Tabea, Sade and Samuel). I graduated from the University of Agriculture in Vienna in Agricultural Economy and Farm Management and attended the counselling education with the Christian Counselling Institute (CLS).

Since 1996 I have been working with the Austrian Agricultural Marketing Board in Vienna as a team leader in the department of environmental productions and measures.

I personally accepted Jesus Christ as my saviour in September 1987 in the Vienna Baptist Church, where I also served as Usher.

As a result of our relocation to Prottes in 1990, we changed to a free local Church in Strasshof. However, we chose CIG as our home Church in the year 2000.

My favourite Bible verse since then is 1. Peter 5:5 "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

Alexandru Filip

I was born in 1958 in Oradea, Romania.
In the fall of 1986 I came to Austria and got to know the church.
In 1987 I received refugee status and lived at the camp in Traiskirchen.
By God's grace I got saved in 1987.

Three years later I married Gaby and God blessed us with 2 lovely daughters, Manuela, now 18, and Naomi (12).

My first task in the church was as translator for the Romanians; then I began serving in the Audio-Video ministry and still do.

In 1998 I became an elder in the church and my heart passion is to go after the lost and to take care of my brothers and sisters, both spiritually and materially.

Otmar J. Tuma

I was born in 1950 in Vienna , Austria. I have been happily married to Gerti for almost 40 years. Together, we have five wonderful children: Desiree, Markus, Daniela, Maximilian, Isabella, all of whom are believers, and 5 grandchildren. I am an insurance broker in an international transport business.

By the grace of God I became a believer in 1988. I was a member of a Baptist-Church till 2001, serving there as a deacon, when I became aware of CIG because I was looking for a church with a good youth-ministry for my kids. I became a member of CIG in 2001. In 2004 I was asked to serve on the Board of our legal entity, the CIG-Verein, and I became elected in 2005 as president. I also serve in the overall CIG-leadershipteam L10 and it is a pleasure to do so with God-fearing and experienced men and women.

Gerti and I lead a Bible study in Laab im Walde, my home for 6 years now and am very blessed by this group, as well as being blessed by many other dear brothers and sisters of CIG. I also lead a welcome team in the morning service and am a part of the Liberia team. One of my ministries is to teach a seminar for baptism candidates.

My mission is to spread the gospel and to further the kingdom of God together with the people of CIG for His glory.

One of my favourite passages in the Bible is Ephesians 2, 8-10 but my life verse is Nehemia 8,10: "The joy of the Lord is my strength."

Roland Machek

I was born in 1954 in Grieskirchen, Austria and I am married with Elke since more than 30 years. God blessed us with 3 wonderful children (Michael, Marlene and Sandra). I'm a business-man, owning a small Import/Export and Consulting Company acting mainly international.

By the grace of God I became a believer in spring 2002. For some months we were attending VCC, then we became aware of CIG, where we found our place since then. In autumn 2006 I was asked to serve as an CIG elder, about a year later I was called to join the Board of our legal entity, the CIG-Verein and retired as an elder. Presently I'm responsible for leading the financial administration of CIG and I also serve in the overall CIG-leadershipteam.

It's on my heart to reach the unsaved in Vienna and elsewhere. That is why in the past I was contributing to Pro Christ, presently to N4C (www.n4c.at) and Love Liberia, as far as the time allows.

Of course I want to serve CIG together with all the people who have the same desire to build Gods kingdom and to be available as "a vessel useful for the master" (2.Tim.2,21).

One of my favourite passages in the Bible is Psalm 23, where we clearly see God's role in our life.
